Stellar Dials

A jumping color of the dial match with a yellow gold case is something that people in the 70s doesn't get, mostly Rolex sells this bright color dial to the Middle East and Asia, and It's not the most popular model. Rolex destroyed batches of Stella dials as they were UNSALEABLE back in the 70s'-80s', one reason they are so rare and very collectible today.

The name "Stella" is not a nickname by the collector, Rolex used it to named the collection 'Lacquered Stella.' and it's not a 100% enamel dial like we understand, It's a lacquered enamel color painted in many layers to achieve the high gloss surface like enamel, the dial has super high glossy finished and can be easily damaged upon service, that's why an excellent condition dial is everything in the stellar dial.

Stellar dial price has gone up a lot in a few years, and many fake dials are out there, it's very hard to tell if you're not seen so many, so when buying a Stellar dial, it's cultural to know your dealer, and you need to trust them.
