One of my grails watch of all time, The Omega Apollo 11 50th anniversary Marking 50 years since Apollo 11 landed on the moon. The Original watch Limited to 1,014 pieces was given to astronauts at gala dinner in Houston in 1969 after successfully set foot on the moon. I know I know, here is another limited edition Speedmaster and your right, Omega released new Speedmaster often. Still, from a business standpoint, the new release means that Omega always comes up with a new idea and new technology and always keep moving forward, but still respecting and connecting to the past.

We come back to this Speedmaster Moonshine gold and discuss why it can be my only watch in the collection, the first time I saw in on release in 2019 I immediately love it. I'm always into an 18k Gold watch and working a lot on gold watches as a dealer and doing watch repair. It's something about an 18k gold watch, a bold statement, something unique and different, a special boy in the class type of thing. This particular 18k is even more unusual. Omega called it Moonshine Gold, a new alloy developed by Omega, which is paler and warmer than traditional yellow gold; it's very appealing on the skin, and with a popping burgundy color on the bezel, it's something to die for.

The first thing that's got me is the huge chunk of 18k gold used in the watch, gold case gold bracelet; even the dial is in gold! Mark at the center Au750. The second is the bracelet; it's true to the original style, narrowed down to the claps in satin brush finished, I wouldn't say I like the original bracelet on the Speedmaster professional so much, and how it looks so huge and not slim down, this bracelet looks more like the small version of Speedmaster professional called Reduce Speedmaster ( ref.3510.50.00) this, I immediately loved.

Look closer in the details we can see a black marker made from Onyx stone like the original; the DON ( Dot Over Ninety bezel ) which watch geek like me love, the bezel was remade with ceramic in a burgundy color and filled in Moonshine gold, and underneath the 6 o'clock "OM SWISS MADE OM "the detail that also true to the original OM stand for "Or Massif," or solid gold (in French)

The new Caliber 3861, first manual-winding chronograph movement to be Master Chronometer certified, now equipped with Co-Axial escapement created by my number one favorite watchmaker George Daniels, a true mechanic genius. The cal.3861 plate even has been dipped in gold! "Or Massif" indeed. One more special thing on the case back is that we have the world map, and Lunar Meteorite, yes, a moon rock on your wrist, how cool is that !.

The box's also very cool made from ceramic and 3D printed on; you guessed it..the lunar surface!

Also the note from the big boss of Omega, Raynald Aeschlimann one of the down to earth owner and CEO I ever met, I was lucky in enough to meet him at an Omega event at Palawan island drinking and chatting over an hour about watches and how his kid loves Thailand, it remained the best event and moment of my life until today, Omega family know how to throw a party !.

In conclusion, this is by far the most stunning watch that Omega has released yet. I love everything about it, the size, the fitting, the history, the use of new technology, and innovation of tomorrow but still connected and stay true to the past—a perfect reminder of how humanity has achieved.
