bVlgari octo finissimo

As a person who always been in the watch community and continually looking at watches trend and the market I always seek for something different, for a past few years a lot of jewelry brand turn serious about watchmaking, one of them are Bvlgari, and yes they go hard on them with LVMH behind. Newly added to my new collection, the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo, first lunch in 2017 in Titanium I always wanted to try on, from the external view only the watch is bold and very original, it's everything but a vintage-inspired.

I take the design more like an Alien tec or a sculpture more than a watch, and I was right, the octagonal design inspired by the 310 AD Roman Massentius Basilica. But when we find out more about the watch, the caliber BVL 138 was the world's thinnest self-winding movement in 2017 at 2.23mm, achieved with Micro-rotor in solid Platinum to add weight to the automatic winder, consider of how thin is it, BVL 138 have 60-hour power reserve! That's why it catches my eyes a lot because ultra-thin moment always be a part of a super-luxury brand and in history of watchmaking, of course, it's always in a more classic and traditional round case style, but this Octo change the game it's bold, contemporary and modern.

We move on and have a look at the case. I got the steel version of the collection because it looks very unusual; it's nothing like your steel watch you got. The metal grows very different form regular steel watch. Because It is coated with a thin layer of gold, palladium, and rhodium-plated—a very original treatment that unique to Bvlgari, the results is a very silvery, almost white color, it caught the light very unequally. The case size is 40mm; everyone knows it, it's a perfect size for today's wrist, the watch sits on the wrist so good it almost like a second skin, the total thickest is only 5.15mm that's might be hard to imagine what is 5.15mm looks like , think of 1cm. The bracelet design is also impressive, once close, it disappears in the bracelet itself, and it looks seamless no extra high added to the bracelet very cleaver!

Overall I'm very impressed and happy it sits in my collection it's a unique piece indeed, retail price is 440,000 thb. for used market goes around 270,000-350,000 thb.
